To me Idris Elba is the more recognizable actor, I have seen and heard more of his work in that few years than Naveen Andrews. But that is just me.
Sure Daniel Craig is not being totally serious about how awful things are, just that the shoot was really hard work and he wants to emphasize the fact that it was grueling to him. Whether he is thankful or not regarding having the chance to play James Bond, who knows?
By the way I really want to watch this, the commercial promo seems really interesting and the villain fascinates, from what little I have seen of him.
Idris Elba didn’t do any of that, to be fair to the actor Idris Elba.
Time for a near unknown Scottish actor to take the role. Clearly what the franchise needs.
Craig, I did not like but I have not really liked any of the Bonds except Connery. I do agree Moore was the worst though.
Nobody will be playing 006 anytime soon.
006 aka Alec Trevelyan, was killed in the movie Goldeneye.
I doubt if that’s a distinction that would make much difference from a British point of view - that is, I find it hard to imagine that there’s a significant constituency who’d watch one because of his ethnicity, but not the other.
But I’d knock Idris Elba out of the race because he’s too famous (and if Andrews is well known too, by all means scratch him as well - I hadn’t heard of him myself). You don’t need a well-known face to sell Bond - Bond is what sells Bond. Certainly I’d never heard of Daniel Craig pre-Casino Royale. I’m sure there’s masses of talented thirty-year-olds out there that nobody’s ever heard of - give one of them the break.
