Thank goodness we have Esprix around here to choreograph our conversations. Are you this much of a mother hen in real life? Do you tell everyone where and when and how to express themselves appropriately? I bet you hate it that there aren’t “forums” in the rest of your life. Oh, and how exactly does one make oneself “welcome” on a message board? Whose ass do I kiss? Do you have to be here a certain amount of time before you can tell someone to “fuck yourself”? Are you this big of a cowboy in real life? Or can you only speak like this online to people you haven’t met at a SD party yet? Please enlighten me about these insider rules.

I read the message board, and that’s all I know about any of these people. I hope I haven’t pretended to know any more, and in fact have already been told several times that I am unfairly characterizing the situation and people involved. Truthfully, I hope I’m not making unfair assumptions about anyone, as that’s what’s bothered me most about the rest of this mess. I don’t even know why I took the time to read all this and maybe I’ll take your advice, Esprix, and fuck off.

What is this, the THIRD time I’ve said this JUST IN THIS THREAD? A Pit thread would have been a more appropriate place to complain except THEY KEPT GETTING LOCKED!!! And the threat had been made and followed through on that anybody who started another one would be banned. Mea maxima culpa, as bad a choice as the Cafe Society thread was, IT WAS THE ONLY CHOICE AVAILABLE!

Finally, as for that thead having been started as a tribute to Eutychus, need I remind everybody that Ed’s original post was an announcement that Euty had been fired? Isn’t it a little insincere to say, “He’s fired but isn’t he a hell of a guy?” and unrealistic to expect nobody to object?

When I’m wrong, which is more frequent than I would like, I hope that I continue to have the sense and humility to step up and say so.
I was wrong. I should NOT have singled out Esprix and dantheman for my PIT thread. They didn’t start the trend which I felt was out of place in the Ed Zotti informational thread about Euty in Cafe Society.
Call me kneejerk, or call me a jerk, but what happened is this(and you have to understand HOW I read these boards, which I’m gonna now explain).
I work six days a week. I get up about 6 in the morning, and go to bed about 1-2 at night. How do I do it? I’m old. We don’t need no steenkin’ sleep.
I usually, except for Sunday, read the boards from about 6PM-1PM every night. I click on “View New Posts” and read threads that interest me, or threads to which I’ve posted or read previously.
So, when I clicked on “view new posts” on the Euty appreciation thread, I found Cheri(Scotticher) criticizing the action taken against Euty. She quickly, after some few posts, wisely decided to bow out of the thread. She was never an issue to me in the thread.
But random posters picked up on her criticisms and the floodgates opened. I could probably post 10-15 names that posted criticisms of the Admins after Cheri posted, but it continued. PLEASE understand. I don’t blame Scotticher. She made a post, came back and apologized, and left with the good grace that she exhibits almost all the time.
I read the thread the next night and replied again. Now that I looked back at the original thread, I probably should have pitted dropzone before either dantheman or Esprix. dropzone was easily one of the earlier assholes(satisfied, now?
)who had to respond in a way that I felt was out of place in the thread.
Again, you have to understand how I read the board at night. I tend to read things that have been posted during the day since I last visited. So, if I read multiple posts by dantheman which relate to matters that would better be expressed in the PIT, then I (wrongly) notice him more than some of the many posters who had single posts. (Does any of this make sense?)
And then, while composing a PIT thread to dantheman, Esprix chimes in with a negative post. So I added him to my shit-list.
All of this is trying to say that I should not have singled out the two valuable long-time posters whom I did. I was wrong.
There was a lot of blame to go around in that thread.
But I would think that calling someone out who was trashing the spirit of the thread, inviting them to the PIT, might have been the wisest course. And I mean that about a plethora of posters. You know who you are(or should).
Scotti. Again, I don’t blame you. You acted with good grace as soon as you had a clue.
