I’ve been waiting for this ever since they kiddyfied the theatrical version.
The original Daredevil movie was going to be rated R and be relatively low budget. After the success of Spider-man they pumped a bunch more money into the special effects and cut out a LOT to make it a PG-13 movie. As far as I can tell they’re re-editing it into the movie I was looking forward to last year. So I’m excited!
I’m not particularly interested in a more violent Daredevil film, but I do want to see it with all the courtroom scenes put back in. I truly got the feeling that something was missing from the film after I saw it. I think they cut all the court scenes to make it more “action”, but I think that disturbed the flow of the film and left it feeling flat. And getting to see the other half of Matt Murdock’s life would have helped, IMO. Especially with such a wooden actor playing the role.
Anyhoo…
I’m not so much looking forward to more violence as more coherent fight scenes. So much was cut to avoid an R that especially in the first fight in the bar I couldn’t tell you at all what was going on other than a broad good guy is beating up bad guy.
Oh, and the courtroom stuff obviously. More plot = good, especially since the original seems so lightweight with so much chopped out.
