Daring Duck Deliverance aka Downy Squeeee!

Wandering (waddling?) the internet tonight, I stumbled upon a heroic tale.

enjoy.

So mundane and pointless, there were no replies. I suck at starting threads…
:frowning:

I thought they were very cute.

I’ll take that thrown bone. And thank you, kind person. (I did too)

I love that story, thanks so much for posting!!

I am saving it to show Mr. S when he gets home from work.

So adorable, and Joel is hero of the day.

And thank you, eleanorigby, for starting this thread and making me smile at work on a Sunday.

Aw, shucks… <digs toe in carpet>
I love the pic of mama and her babies in the water…

I saw that story a few days back.

The baby ducklings are so cute, but that is one IDIOTIC momma duck!

Here’s hoping she doesn’t try hatching another brood in the same location …

Well, to be fair to mama duck the little one who jumped didn’t seem to be any worse off than the others, me thinks that whole “near fatal” thing was a bit melodramatic and they would have probably been ok jumping. Probably. Glad the guy caught em though!

I love Cute Overload. I squeed over this for an hour when it was first posted.

Of course, I had just helped a mama whistling duck and her babies cross the road that day, too, which I thought was a nice coincidence.

Here’s a video and a couple of pics of them.

They’re lovely–what kind of ducks are those? (I’m so used to only seeing mallards).
I like baby ducks.

Black Bellied Whistling Ducks. Their babies are so squeeeeee!

All the duckies in all the linked stories and pictures are squeeeeable. I, too, love little baby duckies.

DUCKIES!

Made my day just to read that.

Aww, look at the duckies! How sweet!

I would have been out there helping them too. Let’s hope that mama duck picks a better spot for her nest next time!

I sent the link to my brother who is a big hulking guy with a soft spot for animal stories. Thanks, eleanor!

and they roost in treeeeeees! (and perch on fences and rooftops!)
