Dark humor and the coronavirus. How inappropriate would this be?

We’re having a meeting next week at work to discuss the latest on the coronavirus pandemic. Mention was jokingly made of making t-shirts, things such as coronavirus response team, etc. I then got to thinking of t-shirts with the general topic of I Survived Tragedy X. Of course since the pandemic is not likely to be over anytime soon, making one for this particular disease doesn’t make much sense. But then my mind went in a darker direction. Let’s say someone with a dark sense of humor develops the illness and becomes severely ill, to the point that it is obvious they likely they won’t survive. Let’s say this person then specifies, as part of their final wishes, that they want to be buried in a shirt that says “I didn’t survive the coronavirus pandemic of 2020.” If you were a t-shirt maker, would you produce such an item? What level of inappropriateness would you rank doing something like this? Use whatever scale you wish.

Sure.

None. This is a customer special order not me rushing in to try and create a market. If joking about their own impending death brings them a moment of happiness I would be happy to help.

Heck, you could have a whole line of burial wear–I didn’t survive a workplace shooter, I didn’t survive cancer, I didn’t survive childbirth (both in mother and infant sizes), I didn’t survive a gang rape…they should sell like snotcakes.

Search on Coronavirus Humor and Coronavirus Merchandise for current offerings and news. Like, Etsy has started cracking down on coronavirus merchandise. Take those Straight Outa Wuhan tees elsewhere. But don’t shoot me for visualizing a tee with the Corona beer label and a caption, Kiss Me, I’m Infected.

Given the age of corona virus victims, I think a T-shirt would be very inappropriate.

I’m thinking more of a leisure suit.

Did you hear the joke about the Coronavirus?

Nevermind, you probably won’t get it.
