Darn You, Mr. Blue Sky!!!

Every day I see your name in these forums, and I get a bad case of ELO on the brain. Now that song is in my head all the time, and it won’t go away! In fact, I have to go get out the CD and play it right now.

Out, damned spot!
At least now I’m spared having “The Candy Man” in my head all the time, thanks to the absence of Satisfying Andy Licious.

I like to ride fishbicycle, I like to ride my bike…

“…and today is the day we’ve waited for. Whoa-oh-oh…”

How freaky is this!!! I’ve just started surfing the forums and get to this one just as I start listening to “Mr. Blue Sky” on my CD.

“Build Me Up Buttercup” is on next. Does somebody want to start a thread about that soon ?

Is there any chance my handle will cure you of ELO-itis?

(of course too much 867-5309 may be a bad thing… nawwwwww)

Thanks, it helped a bit. I still had that song in my head until I read your post. Then about an hour ago, Terry Gross on NPR used the intro to “That Lady” by The Isley Brothers as bumper music…now that one’s stuck in my head! I don’t mind, because that’s a bitchin’ song that doesn’t get played too often.

Same here! I started hanging out around this board a few days ago, and one of the first posts I saw was by Mr. Blue Sky. That song has been stuck in my head ever since…

ELO?

Electric Loogie Orchestra?
Eel Lovin’ Outlaw?
Egg Licking Odyssey?
Enter Liquor Orally?

Am I in any way close?

Electric Light Orchestra. You know, Jeff Lynne and those guys. The Seventies. Well, maybe you don’t know. Now you do!

Merci!

I have heard of them, just didn’t recognize off top.
Now if you’d be so kind as to hum a few lyrics, I might recognize the song.

Well, A ha, I tried. Guess Who doesn’t like Queen! They are The Band, let me tell ya. Their sound is so Sweet. I think they’re Kool, and the Gang thinks so, too. This thread sure does fill in the Gap, **Band **wise.

Sorry, NoClueBoy, please don’t think I was ignoring you! I’ve been trying to come up with a response that’s at least as clever as yours… to no avail. I do like Queen, and I have that record.

harmless, do any of these lyrics ring a bell for you?

Mr. Blue Sky, please tell us why you had to hide away for so long…

Hey there, Mr. Blue, we’re so pleased to be with you
Look around, see what you do
Everybody smiles at you…
Oh no, it’s back. :smack:

Mister Blue Sky

Please tell us why

You had to go away for so long

(so long)

Where did we go wrong?

No. Am I blessed or deprived?

Oh. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, if you like '70s music, I’d say you are deprived. If you hate '70s music, I’d say you are blessed. If you like whips and chains and harnesses, I’d say you were depraved.

Got a Yahoo account? I’ll send you an example of it.
The song, I mean!

GAH! stop it already with that stinking song. I have enough emotional problems as it is.

Sincerely,
Jenny

I got it. I got, I got it!

And curse You sir, for your sig puts U2 in My head
“Every woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle”

That’s the phrase from which I got my name! But I didn’t know it was in a song.

Yup… From Achtung Baby, Tryin’ to Throw Your Arms Around the World
