Darrell Issa: This time you've gone too far

To be fair, I think there was a typo in his post and he meant to write “Yes Issa, it’s like if you had raised concerns about widespread rumors of mass rape by the Libyan military - rumors which, although ultimately found to be without evidence, were taken seriously enough by the International Criminal Court to investigate and which were considered in the context of the very recent years-long practice of mass rape in Darfur in which the West had failed to intervene - in order to justify participation in a NATO military intervention (already being planned at the request of the President of France and supported by the UK, Canada, the UN and the US Senate) into a violent civil war that had already been ongoing for several months in order to mitigate the slaughter of innocents.”

See? Just a slip of the keyboard.

Yes that’s what happened. Bombs mitigated the slaughter of innocents.

Given your previous post, I’m not convinced “Things That Actually Happened” is your speciality subject.

Of course she did lie about the mass rape and help to destabilize the region. If you prefer your mealy-mouthed plee coppage, so be it. Maybe you’ll be invited onto the Diane Rehm Show.

(Aside–
curious word recognition algorithm that renders “apologetics” into “plee coppage”… /aside)

If it was “plea coppage”, the sentence might still work.

Yeah. That’s a thing. It can happen. Weird, innit?

Well, I’m convinced you’re stupid.

Does this happen to everybody else? Some tighty righty says you’re a libruh, therefore you are a big fan of Ziggy Zygote, or somesuch, and you have no idea who the hell they are talking about?

And this just in, from your good friends at Crooks and Liars

Issa sends out a mailer showing him and Obama being on the same side when it comes to sexual assault stuff. Yesterday, he wouldn’t have agreed with Obama about the cuteness of puppies. Today, he wants us to know how close they are.

I’m thinking if he was as sure as he’d like to be, he wouldn’t be hedging his bets.

If it can it didn’t happen in this case. Maybe you could try harder.

“What is now known, however, is that while the death toll in Libya when Nato intervened was perhaps around 1,000-2,000 (judging by UN estimates), eight months later it is probably more than ten times that figure. Estimates of the numbers of dead over the last eight months – as Nato leaders vetoed ceasefires and negotiations – range from 10,000 up to 50,000. The National Transitional Council puts the losses at 30,000 dead and 50,000 wounded.”

Of course she didn’t “lie about the mass rape”, since as I pointed out there were credible reasons to believe it was happening. Lying, as you know, involves making assertions you know to be false.

And I note you’ve gone from “destabilized the region” to “help to destabilize the region”, which weaselling suggests either you’ve suddenly realized that a region already engaged in a violent civil war is about as destabilized as its going to get already or your haziness on “Things That Actually Happened” also applies to words you’ve just said.

Also I have no idea who Diane Rehm is. Is she related to Saul Alinsky?

And are you ever going to tell us what this moronic assertion of yours has to do with Darrell Issa?

Yeah, I’m always having to Google these names. Apparently this one is an NPR talk show host. I guess he thinks everyone get’s their news from talk radio, so he was looking for a lefty equivalent to Rush Limbaugh or something.
