Data Roaming in <Country X>?

Probably one of the more tedious topics around, but hopefully one of the more useful. I was hoping we could take advantage of our worldwide technical knowledge to create a repository of the best short-term-use minimum-hassle local SIM cards for international data roaming on our iPhones.

I’m hoping someone will (please:)) offer info for the USA and also Canada, but I’ll set the ball rolling with details for the United Kingdom.

United Kingdom
Operator: O2
Card to get: Pay-as-you-go SIM/Micro SIM/Nano SIM
Card cost: Free
How to add funds without a local credit card: Visit any PayPoint shop or supermarket, and request a mobile top-up along with your phone number. Or visit an O2 shop.
How to get the data: Ensure there is credit loaded onto the card. Then dial 2202 and follow the prompts to add a “data bolt-on” to the value desired.
Cancelling the plan: The plan will automatically cancel when you run out of money. Next time you visit, you can add money onto the card and data access will resume on the plan previously set up.

Since there isn’t a question in the OP, and “best” is subjective, I have moved the thread from General Questions to In My Humble Opinion.
