Man I see that totally differently. Roth could scream his ass off, was good looking, a perfect frontman for a California party band and he wrote almost all the lyrics (as contrite as much of them are) for all their songs he was a part of.
I just never felt that Hagar’s vocal sound was a good fit for VH, unlike Roth’s.
Same here. I don’t and have never owned a single Van Halen album, so it’s not like you could call me a Van Halen fanboy or anything like that. I do like their work, though. But that all tends to be DLR-era work and I prefer his vocals, too (for Van Halen).
