Dawn of the Dead (No Spoliers please!!)

Quick question kids.

Im dying to see ‘Dawn of the Dead’, but I cant convince my wife to go with me. Exactly how gory/ gruesome is it? She doesnt mind jump-out-at-you-and-go-boo type scary, but guts and brains(delicious brains) bother her. What would be in store for her were she to go?

It’s pretty gory. Best to find someone else to go with you.

Numerous nasty bite injuries, especially the first one, which we get to watch while it happens.

Various cuts and batterings.

Numerous fairly messy gunshot wounds to the head.

LOTS of situations involving zombies leaping out of nowhere suddenly (BOO!)

It is not as bad as the original, though, which included closeups of zombie bites, exploding heads, lots of gunshot wounds to the head, and one fairly explicit evisceration of a screaming victim…

On a scale of one to ten, gorewise, with *Mary Poppins * being a one and *Cannibal Holocaust * being a ten, I’d give the original DOTD a seven and the remake a four or five.

Really? I rewatched the original before going to see the new version and I’d rate it the opposite way. This new version was significantly gorier, if only in the makeup - the old zombies basically had pasty-make up and it appears that in the remake, even the zombies in the background have some excruciatingly detailed make up.
