Oi, I pulled out my copy of Dawn of War the other day. Apart from the base game being a bit tedious, it’s pretty good, particularly with Winter Assault. I never got Dark Crusade or Soulstorm, or Dawn of War 2.
Basically, I heard DC was very good, Soulstorm was not, and I’ve heard nothing about DoW2 at all. Any scoop? What actually makes Soulstorm so bad?
Soulstorm was fucking horrible, for a lot of reasons.
The game is total shit.
Dark Crusade is actually pretty cool, probably the best of the first three for ‘campaign’ style stuff while the original DoW is the best for ‘storlyline’ content. From what I understand (haven’t played it myself) DoW II is good on multiplayer but the single player campaign is rather short. IIRC XT beat it in 12 hours or something. It’s also got some really, really shitty copy protection that doesn’t let you install in on a second computer (or perhaps your first if you have to format, not sure) and it makes you be logged into Microsoft live or something (the specifics don’t matter).
Personally I’d rather not pay money for it, simply because of its obnoxious copy protection.
Wow. That kinda sucks. I either never finished reading that thread or totally forgot about it. Well, smack me around for not searching first.
