Daylight Saving Time

Yes! We don’t have DST in Queensland (Running joke: One hour ahead, 20 years behind), but I’m expected to be at work at 8am (even though the store doesn’t open until 9) and I’ve had fairly serious differences of views with the store manager about me eating breakfast in the store. He says it’s “unprofessional” and I should eat breakfast at home. I say that if they expect me to show up at 8am and not pay me extra for it, then I’m eating breakfast at work since I’m not waking up even earlier (cutting into my sleep and generally not being at work time) just because he’s a wanker who happens to be a neat freak with OCD.

Besides, I say, the customers can’t see me, and he knows what happens when I don’t get coffee in the morning.
