Daylight Savings Time is bassackwards

Unfortunately, few actually did so.

It’s Daylight Saving Time. No “s.” Do you know any care givings nurses?

Not enough, unfortunately.

Jeez, pedantic much?

[off topic]
Seriously though, is this peculiarity prone only to American English? It is Fred Meyer people, not Fred Meyers !!

I get up and go to work in the dark…I work in an office with no windows nearby…I go home in the dark.

:frowning:

Just trying to fight ignorance, citizen.

Granted. But it seems like daylight savings is becoming common usage.

I’m not saying this is a good thing, just something I’ve noticed lately that a lot of terms are getting pluralized for no apparent reason.

If it’s saving daylight, I want to know where they keep the extra daylight. Is there a Strategic Daylight Reserve? Will they release the extra daylight when there’s some crisis and we need to work in shifts 24/7?

Bah. They ought to name it “Daylight-Shifting Time”.

Preach it, Brother!!!
Why change the damn clocks for all to gain some nebulous and arguable benefit for some?
Mankind invented clocks (and the very concept of measuring time, for that matter) as tools to be used, not rules to be followed. How is it even remotely practical to have a standardised framework of synchronicity and then apply it inconsistently? Just tie the damn clock to the passage of the sun (or the frequency of quartz or the decay of certain isotopes or whatever, I don’t care) and be done with it. If your boss needs you to come in earlier, let it be his problem, not mine.
or something like that

What? A new Arkansas Traveler joke?

Now that I think about it . . . At that hour I’d prefer not to have to deal with the horrible, horrible sunlight.
“Not a morning person” doesn’t even begin to describe it . . .
