Mrs. Homie and I are thinking about taking a weekend to Daytona Beach, possibly mid-October. Will the water be warm enough for swimming and such? Are there any events in town that attract a rowdy crowd that we should avoid?

If your not into Harleys or the whole biker culture then steer very clear of Biketoberfest. You won’t sleep much with the bikes thundering around 24/7. Parking will be at a minimum and restaurants full.
When I lived down there it was fun if that’s what you were looking for and horrible if it wasn’t.
