Since my mom’s house isn’t kid-proof, and the occasion is really one that wouldn’t be of any interest to kids, it has been decided to make it adults only.
Regretably, and in no way related to the ‘kids’ issue, I will be unable to attend. The client has decided that this weekend would be a good time to run validation scripts on the latest stability release for a major enterprise piece of software, and I’m to be part of it.
Lovely. There are days when it’s better to not be noticed.
So, sadly, I’ll not be there, but I wish you an excellent party, and it’s even half as exciting as your future life, it’ll be one hell of a shindig!

This is Jomo, I’m back home now! I wrote the above post. This morning I was over at Muslim Guy’s house and used his computer. He didn’t tell me he was already logged in to the SDMB so now my post went out under his name. I e-mailed Arnold Winkelreid about it and he suggested I post again to explain what happened. Now I’m negotiating with Muslim Guy 'cause he owes me one for raising his post count at my expense! Anyway, great party, GeoBill, sorry I couldn’t stay longer!

Jomo, it was great to see you again, after these many moons. Though before I scrolled down enough to see your most recent post, you had me scratching my head a moment - “Muslim Guy? I don’t remember the Muslim Guy!” Then I scrolled down, and everything was clear. 
Geobabe, thank your mom again for me (and for everyone else, I’m sure) for letting this crazy crowd come in and take over her house.
Anita, the food was wonderful, and it was great talking with you again.
Bill, it was great to see you again. You and Lise are so sweet together!
