Dead computers and culture shock

So, I`m feeling pretty sorry for myself right now…

I am just so tired of this shit. I purchased a new Dell laptop maybe a month ago. Right off the bat there were things wrong with it–a constant high pitched whine (apparently resulting from the dual core processor), weird hard drive noises, the screen was too light, etc. But I fixed the high pitch noise with some bullshit solution that lowered battery life and just ignored the rest. Now my newly purchased computer has a dead LCD screen and I am back to having no internet access whatsoever. (I already spent about 2 months without internet access, then another month without a computer, and now AGAIN.) Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and Im away from home for the first time. I have a vacation to plan for over Christmas break, and Im getting really homesick. I am going to have to somehow figure out how to send my computer in to Dell Japan`s service center, which almost certainly means I will have to nag one of my co-workers into helping me. I feel like a small, annoying child. I am functionally illiterate and practically mute. On top of it all, my little sister is sick and I am afraid for her. Right now, I just want to go home.

On the plus side, my house gets a lot cleaner when I dont have a computer around to distract me. Guess I will be watching TV in a language I don`t understand and ironing clothes in the freezing cold tonight.
