Dead Island thoughts? Improvements to be made in number 2?

I thought this was although a flawed game with some broken mechanics, it’s one of the most promising game’s I’ve seen in a few years.

I love the idea, the vastness of the places to explore but there are definitely a few things I think must change for number 2.

  1. No more endless A-B quest’s, fetching teddy bear’s for poor minxy.

  2. Character’s are annoying, I’d rather they’d all get eaten by zombies. Voice acting and character development need to be improved dramatically.

  3. The skill tree system and weapon building didn’t work as well as i’d hoped(although nothing more satisfying nailing 10 spikes onto the edge of a baseball bat and giving it an electric charge) It was broken, the skill tree levelling up aspect just didn’t really have enough of an effect on game play to make users strive to that next level like other RPG’s (Final Fantasy in particular)

These are my 3 biggest problems with Dead island, they need more diversity with quests no more of this bollocks going from one end of the island to the other to fetch someones inhaler in exchange for a gun.

Although these seem like huge problems, I absolutely loved dead island, the same way I loved Mirrors Edge for ‘going out there’ and being such a fun game.

I enjoyed the game even if it had some flaws. It’s one of the few stories I can think of in recent years where the natives were bad guys. I’m looking forward to the sequel though I won’t spend full price on it.
