Not to mention Al doesn’t want the attention of those Pinkerton cocksuckers.
Yeah, I kept expecting her to let slip a “cocksucker” or “motherfucker”. It would’ve been funny to see the childrens’ reactions, but I liked the scene exactly the way it played out. It showed Jane’s congenial side and love for children, and it proved she’s capable of self-control (especially when she’s off the bottle).
Man this season is turning out to be awesome. Why does the show have to end so soon?
Hell, why does it have to end at all? Even if Milch’s vision was to take Deadwood from lawless chaos to civilization, which he’s done, there are still opportunities for dramatic conflict.
[reality alert]
Does anyone know how important Hearst was in the real Deadwood? During the first season I read some history of Deadwood but I don’t remember running across Hearst’s name. Granted Hearst hadn’t shown up on the show yet and I think some of the history sites were slanted toward the Deadwood show characters, but I wonder if the Hearst storyline could play out without much of a bang.

All I can say is that it sounds like HBO took a look at his script for “John From Cincinnatti” and said, “stop writing Deadwood and start writing this”.
If that’s so, (and I’m not finding a link, but I’m not making that up out of thin air either) then John From Cincinatti must be one entertaining motherfucker.
5que, Wikipedia says Hearst owned a mine in South Dakota, but his extended stay in Deadwood (and the conflict) are probably invented.
Trunk, I was upset about this for awhile, but I’ll watch anything Milch does, even surfer noir. His name isn’t always in the writing credits for Deadwood though, so I gotta wonder if the show could go on without him. Or with less of him. Is he on the set every day?
