Oh are we talking about Hillary again, or just Democrats in general?
uniquely awful? How is that helping to unseat trump?
I mean trump is ten times more awful. Maybe 100.
Hillary, altho far better than trump- is worse than Biden.
He is uniquely awful because he is pushing 80 during a pandemic that predominantly kills off old people. He is trapped in a basement while Trump is planning rallies.
Sanders wouldn’t be much better and he’d probably die a couple weeks after contracting the virus. But that’s what we have to deal with in a gerontocracy I guess.
Biden is uniquely awful in the sense that no other Democratic candidate is awful in the same ways as him. But some others were awful in even worse ways, so the adverb doesn’t really mean much, there.

Agreed.
Every candidate has weaknesses.
Remember Rev. Wright? I, for one, found his you-tubed rants awful. If it was me, I would have left his church at the first rant.
As for this year’s race, next after Biden, in the delegate count, is Bernie Sanders – a socialist who used to be a Trotskyite communist. That’s close to awful to me.
Behind Bernie is Elizabeth Warren. While her old claim to be a Native American isn’t awful to me, between the people who think affirmative action is awful, and the people who think stolen valor is awful, you probably have a solid majority who can be convinced she is awful.
Next comes Buttigieg. He’s one I have a hard time saying is awful. But when he is older and more experienced, and I know more about him, that may change.
And then there’s Klobuchar, with 7 delegates. I have a feeling that what’s awful, in treatment of a Senate staffer, is close to normal in expectations for the White House pressure cooker. Plus, I think she learned a painful lesson about how private treatment of staff can hurt you politically. But the way Amy criticized some staff in front of co-workers was awful. And it probably won’t stop her from being the next to next President of the U.S. if a Biden-Klobuchar ticket wins.
You can say that again
And none of them are Trump, a deranged, corrupt white nationalist who has done great harm to the nation and caused the needless deaths of thousands of Americans.
You do remember that she won the majority, don’t you? Or is it that you believe Trump when he says otherwise?
And so now we know why Reade is coming up with this now:
*woman who had accused Dr. Anthony Fauci of sexual assault now claims she was paid to lie about the public health expert by a pair of President Donald Trump’s supporters.
The woman says right-wing provocateur Jacob Wohl and his frequent accomplice Jack Burkman persuaded her to cast Fauci as the assailant using details from an actual sexual assault she survived just after high school, and they paid her to do it, reported Reason.*
I don’t think Joe Biden raped.
And I don’t think Tara Reade was paid.
And both for the same reason – character assassination, without proof, in a just society, isn’t believed.
She won a plurality of the popular vote- not a majority.
About 27% of eligible voters.
Against the most depraved, repulsive candidate that a major US political party has ever nominated
…since the civil war. Social norms allowed people to be pretty depraved the further you go back in time.
So you were smart enough to see Trump for what he was ahead of time. And I was smart enough to see Trump for what he was ahead of time.
But did you really expect the entire country to live up to our high standards?
I mean… Yeah? Are those really such high standards anyway? Don’t vote for a deranged carnival barker for president. Simple.

Trump is surely a type of fuckwit and gruesome and a rich arsehole but the worst president stuff is a bit over the top.
He’s started fewer bullshit wars than Bush at least. I think you place too much emphasis on talking nice. Bush had the same shit with people laughing at his silly talk while he did evil.
Bush was a moron as well. But he did not try to dismantle the government to save his skin. Nor did he roll back good policy just because he was a racist asshole. I don’t remember Bush to be too much of a traitor or extortionist either. Don’t know if Bush obstructed justice, but I imagine so. He never admitted to it on national TV though. Not sure if he paid off hookers with campaign money or not.
Shall I go on? It’s getting kinda late.
Iraq war deaths. Afghanistan.
This reminds me of Kaiser Wilhelm (Wilhelm II) who is most responsible for starting WWI (yeah, I know, Gavrilo Princip started it but it was Wilhelm who had the choice to put a pin in it or let it go).
The best thing that ever happened to Willhelm II was Adolph Hitler. When most people are asked about who the biggest boogeyman of the 20th century is it is not Wilhelm then think of…but he really should be top of the list (or at least a very close second).
The same idea applies here. George Bush (the younger) was a colossal disaster as a president. But (lucky for him) Trump happened. So, like Wilhelm, his massively bad time in office will be forgotten in the even worse time in office of Trump. Before Trump I think there was a very good case to be made that Bush was the worst president in US history.
Which is saying something because they are both really, really bad.
I’d have a really hard time putting the Kaiser as one of the top 20th century villains. World War I was horrific but it due to the wartime technology and trench warfare, not sadistic tendencies by the Kaiser. There’s plenty of military incompetence by the Germans, French, English and Russians to go around.
Hitler’s genocide was his true evil. I’d put Pol Pot right up there in a list of top 20th century villains along with Milosevic.
