Dear Cincinnatians:

I understand. Cincinnati is a fine city. It’s not home for me, but I like it a lot, and I’ll miss it when I’m gone.

Thanks for the heads-up, Jungle Jims looks really cool! I’d never heard of it before. When my twins are older we’ll be resuming visits, we’re on hiatus now - FIL let us know after our last visit that he’d prefer to be the one to make the drive. Young children + his house = not a good mix.

But…nothing to do there? Seriously? I can come up with a big list of stuff to do right off the top of my head, art and music, lots of museums and parks, the Cincinnati Zoo, the Newport Aquarium right across the river (there’s a GameWorks over there somewhere, too), various live theaters, professional and college sports, the Nature Center, Krohn Conservatory, King’s Island.

Did you know that UC’s College Conservatory of Music is really prestigious and hosts all kinds of things?

I do remember it seemed like everything shut down on Sundays (except the Taft museum).

And you have to drive up to Butler county to get porn (or at least you did back when Simon Leese (sp?) was Sheriff).
We lived in a city that other people loved but we hated (State College, PA), so I know what that’s like. It’s true that some places just aren’t “home”.

The Taft is a wonderful museum! Cincy also has a lot of great neighborhoods: Hyde Park, Clifton, Northside, Oakley, Mt. Adams, Mt. Lookout (where I live)… And any city that decorates itself with pig-themed art and calls its marathon “The Flying Pig” is A-OK in my book.

Up here its not exactly the first snowfall that bugs me , but the last one in April. For some reason in March we go through a round of exceptional good weather , usually starting on either reading week or march break and last up until the first week of April.

Now it might be cold as hell, but no percipatation and when we get the snow fall, it might only be an inch or two , but its almost worse than the first in November.

Nokian Hakapolita are very popular. Both my wife and boss have them. I’ve had them myself. I’m running BFG AT’s at the moment. Wanted to try out a bit more of an aggressive tread. Cube neighbor runs those as well.

Other cube neighbor has BFG rugged trail which pretty much suck. My car came with them when I bought it new.
