Right. I can’t recall any account ever having been completely deleted. The registration and username still exist in the system. Likewise, while posts may have been removed from the view of regular members, they still exist and are accessible to the staff.
Yes, I thought that was the sense. I just wanted to make sure that the term was not nuanced. Thanks to you and Colibri for the replies.
That is a wonderful option for some I think.
If someone had become paranoid (justifiably or not) about their digital presence would there be a way for them to eliminate their email and other potentially identifying information from the digital files? (Leaving their posts intact.)
You can change your email at any time using the UserCP. We do, however, require that a user provide a valid email address to remain a member.
You can also get your username changed if you picked something like your real name. That will change it in all your previous posts as well, but it will NOT change any time someone typed your name into a post. Those will still be there for eternity, or at least until civilization collapses under the zombie hoard.
I honestly read that as “zombie board”.
Reminded me of this…

Shouldn’t that be “zombie horde”? Or are you talking about a collection of zombies you just happen to have in your…I guess in your basement?
Yep. I don’t think he liked the response from Broomstick. Maybe he only wanted that post removed?
there was no accusation intended. Merely observing that I was reminded of the image, mostly by the concluding statement. Apologies to anyone who took offense.
Herschel kept his in the barn.
Stupid homonyms.
I’m not fond of the fact that you can google my email and link me to this site.
But thems the brakes.
I’m pretty sure your email isn’t readily available to users - or at least you can disable this function in the options of your User CP. In the User CP on the left nav bar, under the Settings and Options section, you can Edit Options and uncheck the “receive emails” thing. I think you have already done this because when I click through your profile I do not see an email listed.
What is this idea based on? Have you tried such a search? I find no such link.
My issue is my contacts who have my email can easily link me to this place. Which is something I’m not fond of.
Hey, look at that! I just tried it, and there were no such links! Google must have changed something because that was not always the case.
You’re the zodiac killer?
Ugh. A homonymophobe.
