Please remove my account from this forum.
Yeh, I don’t think it works like that.
Why? (That was for Vicsage, not you cmyk).

We generally do not remove accounts or posts. If you no longer wish to participate here, all you need to do is stop posting.
And yeah, you can’t get your account ‘removed’ as such. You can stop posting of course, but anything you’ve written here previously will last for time immemorial
Ninja’d by a MOD no less.
Generally? Does this mean that in extraordinary circumstances you do?
Socks and trolls a lot of times will have posts removed
And I’d imagine that if someone had a serious and legitimate reason to be disappeared from the interwebs (perhaps personal security reasons etc) then that would be given due consideration by the mods.
I’m not 100% on this, but I think that threats of legal action are…not removed, but hidden to non-mods/non-admins.
Generally, to me, means “pretty much all of the time” in this case. I’ve never seen it done for anyone, and I can’t see it ever happening for anyone for any special circumstance. Even socks, trolls, spammers, and legal threats are banned and/or hidden…not actually removed as members (unless you count getting banned as being removed. I don’t, because the account still exists and is public).
Just stop posting is the best way to go about it.
I hope it’s nothing I said . . .
Maybe he thinks he spends too much time reading here (I know the feeling) and thinks that no longer being able to post would help him cut the habit. In which case, I suggest that he do things to get himself banned. REALLY let go with it. Go out with an epic bang that will be talked about for years to come.
Maybe this was his motivation…

It’s not even a Question…
Which forum didn’t you like?
Isn’t this policy kind of begging people like the OP to take up trolling or manufacture a sock?
That seems counter productive to me.
“If you try to make me responsible for what I say on your forum, I will do my best to screw with it.” Doesn’t sound like something the board should even consider tolerating.
The OP gives no suggestion of what his motivation is for the request, nor does he indicate that he wishes to continue to post under a new name. You are making assumptions about who “people like the OP” might be. Nor do we know what exactly he means by “remove my account.” If he just stops posting, that would effectively be the same as if we banned him. If he means remove all his posts, that would be extremely disruptive since he has been a member for almost a year and has 388 posts.
We think making people take responsibility for what they post here is a better policy for making people think before posting.
Moderator Note
Please don’t encourage other posters to break the rules. No warning issued, but this suggestion is pretty jerkish.
We will consider requests to put posters “on sabbatical,” to put them on suspension and prevent them from posting for personal reasons for an indefinite time. Since they haven’t been suspended “for cause,” they can request to come back when their situation has changed. Such requests should be made to the staff by PM or email. We consider such requests on a case-by-case basis.
