Dear Pneumonia

Dear pneumonia,

You are hereby notified that your tenancy of the following property, to wit:
Nightingale’s Right Lung, Apt. Lower Lobe, will terminate immediately. You are specifically instructed to take with you the 500 cc of fluid you have been holding at said premises, along with the unidentified nodule which was detected by CT scan earlier this week. You have received previous warnings including 7 days of IV antibiotics administered in the hospital beginning on Feb. 17, 2004, and are currently being sent daily notices in the form of oral antibiotics. Your friend pleurisy seems to have taken the hint; we strongly suggest that you do the same. If you do not vacate the premises immediately further action WILL be taken. A pulmonolgist will be investigating this matter beginning on Monday.

This is your final warning. Leave or face the consequences.

Dated this 12th day of March, 2004
Nightingale and her Health Care Team

I’m sorry you’re sick! I hope you feel better.

(That was the funniest post I’ve ever read!)

So it’s settled then? No more lawyers in medical school?

On the other hand, we could always use more doctors in law school:

“Mr. Dahmer, you are a cancer on society. As such, you will be irradiated until you shrivel up and fall off.”

Seriously, though - that SUCKS. I had walking pneumonia earlier in the winter and for a while there I thought I’d never be able to take a deep, pain-free breath again. Good luck, hope all turns out well for you.

I had it the week after Mothers Day last year.

I remember it well. It was the suck, to say the least. ( I was not hospitalized, but pretty damn sick none the less)

Hope you feel better soon

Ahh yes…found my OWN damn pit thread about this lovely topic.
