I’ve got it, a mild case.
At home in my apartment, with z-pack & prescription inhalors.
Can’t visit Dad in his rehab until it clears up.
Probably cauight it in the hospital.
Nuts.

Yikes! You’ve certainly had a crap month. Hope you and your dad are feeling better soon! I hear it helps if you sleep propped up with pillows.
Fucking hell Bosda, you are having a shit 2010 so far.
Walking pneumonia
Walking pneumonia
Who’d have some walking pneumonia with me…
I feel for you. I’ve got serious bronchitis, yet again! I, too, am huddled up in my loft with the Zpack and lots of fluids. Feels like I’m breathing through a wet sponge. Feel better soon…and healing thoughts to you and your Dad!
Codene (sp?) cough medicine helps, a little.
You could always make the cough syrup my pediatrician recommended to my mother, many moons ago: one part honey, one part lemon juice, one part whisky.
For some strange reason, it quiets the kids right down…….
Feel better soon, Bosda!
No fun! Wishing you a quick recovery!
I had pneumonia a few years ago. Despite the pulmanologist telling me I could return to work (I’m an RN) after 2 days in the hospital, I insisted on a week off. Even though I only worked PT at the time, I worked 12 hour shifts. I truly didn’t feel WELL until a month after my bout. It was like a switch was flipped and suddenly I had energy again.
Please, take it very easy. Rest, rest and then rest again. It’s the only way to get better. (or at least it was for me). Good luck.
I just got over a bout of pneumonia a couple weeks ago. Luckily mine was never contagious because it was due to injury, not illness. Bad enough to be awakened, sputtering, in the middle the night, lungs full of aspirated stomach acid. But to have it get worse from there, get infected and lead to a month’s worth of pneumonia, I highly do NOT recommend.
So I feel for you Bosda, with the sincerity of very recent memory.
I was grateful when I got it as I could look my partner in the eye. She had it so bad she cracked her ribs coughing.
Sorry…
This is going to look so interesting on your x-rays with your histoplasmosis scar.
Give yourself plenty of time to fully recover. Hope you feel better soon.
Z-pack is kicking in.
I’m starting to feel a little better.
Dang Bosda! Prayers and healing thoughts headed your way.
Ugh. And I was in the same clinic waiting room as a heavily breathing woman with pneumonia. I don’t remember if she coughed or sneezed, but she said she had it, and she was in the same room. I tried to get out of her “cone of germs,” but who knows. We’ll see if I picked it up from her.
Get well soon Bosda.
Wishing you a speedy recovery.
The white blood cells of Bosda
have again failed in their jobs-a
filial duty he’s slacking
while sputum he’s hacking
Dopers wish health for you and your Da-da.
