I figured that out on my own, thanks.
I don’t get it either. What is with the $10,000?
Hoping to buy a reindeer-seeking anti-air missile before Christmas,
As a libertarian conservative, I think this guy is a loon and should be locked up. I disavow any association with this nutbag.
Once in the '90s, at a party hosted by a local Libertarian, a guy who claimed some association (I’m not clear on how close) with the militia movement told me there was proof the FBI had perpetrated the Oklahoma City bombing as a “false flag” operation, to generate a pretext for a crackdown on dissidents. That’s their worldview.
and do you also disavow those who use incendiary language to spread the sort of false information (like say, death panels) that emboldens these loons in what they perceive as a righteous fight against tyranny?
The Hagerstown guy, or Rand R0ver?
Naturally he’d be in jail, if he were arrested and detained.
Unless by jail, you mean prison, that’s a different story.
Of course. And I think they were born in Kenya. You know how dumb immigrants are.
The headline and this quote only say he was detained, not necessarily arrested, which could simply mean held up at the entrance for questioning.
However, the last paragraph goes on to say that there was no other arrests."
The right wing is the home of dangerous crazies. The Becks , Malkins and Limbaughs fire them up with wild crazy rhetoric. I do know they would not take any responsibility if a nut does something to the Obama family. Fox is firing up the nuts.
Squeeky From got released today. I guess they just have to work on her directly to accomplish the deed.
Never mind – the Washington Post says directly that he was taken into custody.
And there WERE no other arrests. :smack:
Of course you wouldn’t.
How about Palin, Beck, Hannity, Dobbs, Limbaugh, Savage, Fox, and any other right-winger who’s using media outlets to whip these people into a frenzy based on lies and twisted logic?
Thought so.
“Whipping people into a frenzy” =/= “Inciting people to kill”.
As far as I know, the only people who have advocated the use of violence (or belligerence) are the astroturf groups organizing the anti-UHC protests.
Who says they have to be equivalent? This back-and-forth began when Bricker asked what these loons had to do with the right wing. Hence the responses you’ve seen to wit, “right-wingers” like Hannity, Palin, Beck, Dobbs, Boortz, Limbaugh, etc. are the very folks feeding the ignorant paranoia that drives the nutters.
I happened to tune in to Rush’s show while I was out getting my lunch today, and he spent easily a good 15 minutes repeatedly tying the current administration, and Obama specifically, to the Nazi regime. In fact it was kind of interesting to hear his approach: the very Madison Ave. technique of repeating the key words he apparently wanted to get across (in this case, ‘Hitler’ and ‘genocide’) as many times as possible (more than 15 times each, by my count), without actually calling Obama a new Hitler or accusing the administration of planning genocide.
Now, at no point did I hear Rush advocate violence against anyone. On the other hand, there seemed to be a fairly strong element of “Who will rid me of this turbulent priest?” in his speech, and I for one found it frankly disturbing.
Change the words a little and it’s nearly exactly what right wingers spent seven years saying about WMDs and Iraq.
How, exactly, was he working in the word “genocide” in the context of Obama? By reference to the death panels?
I don’t think right wingers spent seven years telling liberals they were responsible for WMDs and Iraq.
There is a vocal subset of Right-Wing assholes who are totally convinced that Obama is if not the antichrist, almost as good. There are others who just think he’s a pointy-headed liberal wanting to sell out good American values, but their animosity is within the normal realm of political culture, and would still be upset if the President were murdered rather than removed by the Democratic process.
No, they didn’t. They did say that there would be a huge disaster if we didn’t root out the WMDs and force a regime change in Iraq.
I’m a centrist and I am sick of all of you. Gloom, doom and scare tactics is what passes for debate anymore.
