So, I haven’t seen another thread for this, so I figured I would start one. Death Race of course is a remake of the 1975 movie Death Race 2000, about heavily armed cars racing to the death.
Saw the trailer, figured I’d be in for a shallow, violent, action packed crashfest, and the movie delivered. Jason Statham gets typecast once again as an awesomely kickass driver, framed for the murder of his wife so that he can be made to participate in a gladiatorial auto race where the goal is to survive to cross the finish line first.
Movie is lots of fun, very violent, rather gory in bits, and very over the top. My favorite bits were the advertisements, complete with intro shots of the drivers posing with their cars and urging the viewers to subscribe to the pay-per-view race for only $250.
Oh, and of course, there was also the Dreadnought’s brief appearance 
Overall, not nearly as stylish as Wanted was, but still lots of fun to watch.
