Cecil told that 221 out of 228 hyperthermia deaths in Finland 1986 was caused by sauna and commented that it was mainly drunk men.
That’s true, but you just also put it into a perspective. There are almost as many saunas as there are people in Finland. Almost all me go to sauna at least once a week and I’d say we can assume that as there are those that don’t go to sauna there are also those who go every day that once a week is a good measure.
So 52 times per year by 2 million men in Finland are 104 * 10^6 sauna visits per year. If 221 of those causes hypertermia then the probability is very low.
The only advise I give: Don’t go alone to sauna if you are wasted.
