I read your posts. Was there a question or something in one of them that you wanted me to respond to? Sorry if I missed it but I do try to respond to everyone especially when it’s my thread.

Since it’s a pit thread that I opened my usual approach is to shower with praise anyone who agrees with me and insult/argue with anyone who disagrees with me. You didn’t fall into either of those categories.

I made a mental note to check this out but haven’t gotten around to it yet. It’s blocked at my work, which is why I commented on the others but not it. (Four radio stations were mentioned in that post, and I discussed three of them. I guess 75% isn’t enough for the high standards of this thread!)

For about a day or so 96.9 (which used to be the talk station) tried a format of “big hair” before they switched to the current format of rap-crap. Such a tease.

I approve of this epic rant. Here in the UK things are not quite that bad but I daily thank Steve Jobs/God for all the great little radio stations the tunein app pulls in for me. The USA has so many great jazz, blues and rock radio stations.

Well, in your OP, you complained about a lack of talk on the FM dial. My original comment was that there was “a lot of talk on NPR”. I thought that was sufficient as a counter example, no query required. So, do you not ever listen to WGBH?

I haven’t actually been in a coma for a few years, you fucking dumbass. I was using a rhetorical device to frame my rant. I was pointing out how “shocking” it would be for someone to see all the changes of the last few years all at once on the radio dial.

As to your other points: Yes, of course, not being a fucking complete moron I realize that there are many reasons for the decline of terrestrial radio. I’m absolutely part of the problem, being a person who has a smartphone and listens to online radio and even listed to Sirius for a while.

That’s not what this fucking thread is about you shit licking fucksnapper. If I wanted to have a calculated discussion of the various factors in the decline of the radio market I would have opened a GD thread. The purpose of this thread was to rant and lament the loss of beloved radio stations that I miss and that’s it.

A huge portion was also dedicated to disparaging any and all music you don’t personally like and disparaging those who like said music with assumptions and stereotypes you (surprise!) pulled out of your ass. Don’t act like your OP was some misty-eyed, loving tribute (with nuanced rhetorical devices, natch) to the stations you miss that didn’t depend on sneering and disparaging their replacements when WE CAN STILL FUCKING READ THE POST RIGHT THERE.
