I have tough decision maybe you guys would like to help me with. I have the option of going to university in a couple of weeks (Aberystwyth, University of Wales), it’s a good uni for my subject and it’s highly rated generally. The only problem I have with it is that it’s in the middle of a quiet seaside town, and although it has many pubs and is full of students it really has nothing else going for it than a good university.
I’m considering taking an extra year out instead, in this time I can retake my a-levels and apply to a busier, big-city uni as well as learn to drive and fulfil other goals I have. I’m already 19 as I took an extra year to redo A-levels due to a first year mess-up so time isn’t on my side because of this. I also think I’ll enjoy life more in a big city with more life and opportunities than a quiet seaside town uni (although one that is said to have an excellent sense of community and said to be a great laugh to go to).
What do you guys think about this. Should I just go to my uni or will the quiet nature of the location hold me back? I don’t want the world to pass me by while I spend 3 years in a ghost town. On the other hand, is a year of my life retaking my a-levels too much to sacrifice, as this uni Is meant to be laugh anyway?
I’m really stuck on this choice I’d like to see what you guys think, thanks for reading
