You’re obviously using the worng kind of meter. Have you tried using a joke detector?

You’re obviously using the worng kind of meter. Have you tried using a joke detector?
sailor, kinsey asked–I answered. Yes, I knew TC was joking when I read the post. I chose a polite way to answer someone who asked an apparently serious question about that post without doing a fandango on the joke. If my response convinced you that I have no sense of humor–well, see if I tell you the latest felching joke. Wait, that’s not much of a threat, is it?
Well, duh, I didn’t know tc was joking. Sounded kinda right to me. He went off into techno-speak and lost me. That’s why I’m not a technician! I still think MW doors could be reversed. I don’t know about regular oven doors (not to go back to the original thread), but it seems like they could open sideways, too.
Maybe we should start a third thread about why toaster ovens always open down from the top. Ever seen one open sideways like a MW?
If you want to save space so badly, why not make a microwave that opens from the TOP. Forget all this reversible nonsense.
Not that I don’t like pointing out the obvious, but I’m trying to tone down some of the glee in my life:
Manufacturers make the same model MWs available with doors that open one way AND the other. So, buy two MWs, one with a left-opening door and one with a right-opening door. Sure, it costs twice as much, but what’s a little extra money compared to convenience?
Bear, not to burst your bubble, but I already asked your question. Here’s a repeat, pasted from above, that’s if you’ll even see it now  :
Kinsey
same here. Whew! SDMB is a lunatic hangout, better named Crooked Dopes. Why straight dope, beats me. Balance, I don’t necessarily mean you & others like you. At least, not this time around
Wait a minute…don’t blame me for any of this. I didn’t post ANY technical information in this thread. I don’t know what you are talking about. I’m completely innocent. I was busy replacing the thrust-reverser on the Concorde.
No, I am talking about a door on the top of the microwace. You were talking about a door that opens like a toaster oven. BIG DIFFERENCE. Your idea would not save space because the door is still being opened in the direction of the user. My microwave door would open up toward the ceiling and not take up any more counter space.
You said “user would then manually flip down the door?” A door on the top of a microwave could not be flipped down. You were talking about something completely different. You are thinking of a microwave with the door in the front but with hinges in a non-traditional place. I am proposing a door ON TOP OF THE MICROWAVE.
Bear, well, not sure if you’re pulling everyone’s leg (the way people never knew whether Mark Twain was, so to be on the safe side they’d even laugh at serious stuff).
But I’m not laughing, just waiting for a lucid answer to ALL of our suggestions, that is:
(1) Vandal’s for 2 doors opening in the center
(2) Mine for a flip-down door (like toaster oven) - who cares about using up counter space? nothing’s in front of it anyway, just the empty counter!
(3) Bear’s? (whether flippant or not)
Bear didn’t tell on me so I ain’t telling on him.
tee hee hee
Jally, when you picture my microwave you have to think of a Jack-in-the-box. See, it opens on the top.
And now I am thinking that after it is done nuking, your cheese sandwich will just pop out of the top. Maybe the microwave could even play some ‘pop goes the weasel’ music while it is cooking. Understand?
Calling twice, calling thrice
When I said I was waiting for answers, I was soliciting SOMEONE SANE, COMPRENDE?
GIVE ME SANITY, OR I’LL BUST! …anyone “balance”-ed out there?
Balance, are you there? Or anyone else like s/he?
