[OOG]Sorry I’ve been away. Weekend full of wedding crap, and I just didn’t make it in here yesterday. [/OOG]
I thought we shoulda lynched her yesterday, and she’s done nothing to change my mind today.
vote Silver Jan
But then along comes choie, with a whopper of a double vote. I really don’t like this vote.
Here’s the paragraph that concerns me most (snipped from a larger post):
I don’t like the way she is spinning the end of the day Yesterday. This isn’t how it went down. I dont remember there being some mass exodus away from silver jan. I certainly wasn’t swayed by Normal’s case. Which you then use as the crux for your second vote. You are ignoring the possibility that Silver Jan is scum, and Normal is not, and Normal still defended Silver.
I was gonna vote for you choie, but there was an even bigger infraction, I saw:
ShadowFacts.
This is a scum post. The “request to all to be more helpful” make smoothing things out easier. Followed up by a “Please Clarify your case, so that I can weigh in judgement on it”. It reeks. It’s a whole bunch of words, with an emphasis on how pro-town they are, that say nothing about you or any concrete opinions you might have about this game in particular.
I’m still very sure septimus needs to go, but as I’ve handicapped myself and cannot move, I’ll verbally offer my support to at least the **ShadowFacts **case.
No idea about Jan. Not going to argue for her head to spare myself, though.
That’s a simple request for people to engage in pro-town methods of voting. You *might *(and I emphasize might) have a case if that’s all I ever posted, but I’ve got plenty of analysis, votes and “concrete opinions” on record in this game. Unlike some other posters I could mention. Crap vote, in my not-biased-at-all opinion.
I see in the Wiki that either variation is possible a Janitor may or may not learn more than Town is told.
So your “Of course” there is incorrect .
It is possible that Scum did us a favour and iced a 3rd party.
Another thought…………. If Scum has no Janitor, It could have been a 3rd party that was rigged to be unidentifiable in death…………….. off to see who has mentioned 3rd parties this Day………………
Waitaminute, hold on a sec. I don’t think I’ve made a single OMGUS vote. The first person to vote for me right outta the gate was pedescribe, which I certainly didn’t reciprocate. I believe the only other person to vote for me was Silver Jan, and she did that after I voted for her.
The only people I’ve voted for have been:
KellyCriterion, because of his (IMHO) aggressive demands for cites that he then proceeded to dismiss; this seemed unhelpful to Town and just generally icky. Probably my least rationalized vote, but I’m a gut-player.
Silver Jan, for reasons I’ve been over.
Normal Phase, for reasons I’ve been over.
None of the above voted for me before I voted for them, I don’t think. Well, Kelly did give me a FOS, but I didn’t vote for him 'cause of that (and indeed I didn’t vote for him until some time later, after the “cite” incident).
In short, call me scum if you must, but do not tar me with the OMGUS brush.
Nah, that was just me roleplaying. I’ve been kvetching about the lack of color here and I’m trying to add a dash of flavor.
Y’know, you’re right in that I’ve probably tended to err on the side of overly (and possibly annoyingly) apologetic. So, for the last time – yes, I promise this is the last time I’ll mention this fact and am only doing so 'cause it’s relevant to my defense – this is very literally the first Mafia game I’ve ever played. Not just here, but anywhere. And I’m the nervous and insecure sort. If I could I’d apologize for every post I make.
The difference, at least as I perceive it, between my comments and Silver Jan’s is that I’m just trying to explain my probably sucking at the game and being so confused about the rules. I am NOT protesting “hey don’t vote for me 'cause I’m vanilla town!” Heck, I don’t think I’ve ever even said I’m vanilla or not. (I know that gives way too much fodder to the scum: that much of a rube I’m not.)
Whereas Silver Jan is using her alleged vanllla-towniness as her sole defense against those either voting against her or who just mention that her posts seem scummy. Her only line of reasoning is that we should believe she’s innocent because she says she’s innocent.
Your wedding? You’re forgiven then. And congrats.
Whoa nellie, no no no no… I’m sorry, I wasn’t clear. I wasn’t saying there was a mass exodus away from Silver Jan Yesterday. To the contrary, the way I remember the end of that Day, there were a lot of Silver Jan votes and she looked like she was in grave danger for a while there until the Kellywagon barrelled across the finish line.
What I did say, or at least I meant to say, was that despite there being this groundswell of anti-Silver Jan sentiment before the axe fell on Kelly, once the new Day dawned, no one seemed to be renewing the calls for Silver Jan to swing. We were distracted, understandably so, by the odd lack of factual info after the first Night’s kill. And then Askthepizzaguy and special ed and septimus got into a whole thang, and still no one was seeming to remember the weirdo claims on Silver Jan’s behalf.
That is what I meant. Not that there was a mass exodus away from Silver Jan prior to the Kellynching, but that there was mass amnesia about our anti-Jan suspicions after the Kellynch. And it was time to renew the suspicions, IMHO.
Whew. Hope that’s clearer?
No, I’m not ignoring it; at the time, Normal’s rush to claim seemed so bizarre to me according to how I understood good strategy – i.e., don’t claim unless absolutely, positively necessary – that to me, her defending Silver Jan because she was fellow scum trumped the alternate explanation. Subsequent posts this afternoon, both by Normal and by others on her behalf, do seem to give a rationale that makes more sense. She’s still kinda pinging me, however, and I don’t want to unvote just yet because I think that’d be reactionary just because now everyone’s on my case. I don’t want to ignore my instincts just 'cause I’m under fire.
But let’s just say my Normal vote is on the cusp of being a FOS. There’s still plenty of time before Nightfall, and miles to go before we sleep. And miles to go before we sleep.
(Hopefully many more miles before I sleep, at least at the end of a noose!)
Lightfoot’s claim is ill-considered from another perspective in that if there is a doc in this game, they are paranoid and so can only protect her at the expense of preventing her role action. I know this because I suffered through having to make that decision with Astral in the last game. It’s not a very fun impasse to be at.
Vote Silver Jan
She’s rubbing me the same way she did in the last game and she was scum so I see no reason not to suspect the same here.
I disagree with skeezix’s case on shadowfacts on principle, in that I agree with Shadowfacts wholeheartedly. I am in no way swayed by, “I’m voting for so and so for the same reasons as yesterday.” It’s lazy. If you want to persuade me to vote for someone, take the 5 minutes to make a link or two. Especially here where we can’t have individual threads for each day and night.
I have been reading along, but now need to reread everything with actual player eyes. But I have been dying to
vote askthepizzaguy
for being confusing, illogical and hypocritical, and covering it all up with: “I am a Mafia genius and if you are confused, it’s just because you don’t understand my greatness”.
I’m wiling to go along with it for a little bit. I only read the one thread on the other board, but this seems pretty par for his course and if he can get results, then I’d be grateful for it.
Despite my presence on Silver Jan’s wagon. I’m currently aware that it is an appealing place for Scum to place a vote currently if any of the other vote getters are Scum.
Underlining mine
This is a game mechanic I am not familiar with. Are you saying that the Doc (if we have one) may block me while protecting me? That seems irrational.
That I am … If I follow my reasoning anyone who is Scum and knows they didn’t mangle the body (if that is the case) has to be considering a 3rd party that had the ability to appear unrecognizable
By that same measure, isn’t anyone who is Town, even if they assume the Night Kill as done by the Scum, also going to have to assume that it’s possible that the victim was 3rd party?
Gosh, that guy sounds like a total jerkbag. You really should lynch him. I agree.
I don’t suppose it’s possible that that guy recognizes that his methods aren’t done here, and that explaining that it’s worked for him in the past, elsewhere, might be a real explanation, and not a suggestion that he’s a mafia genius who is better than everyone else?
Nah, that’s not possible. No way you could be even a little unfair to a jerkbag like that. FRY HIM!
Just trying to see how you’d react, and if you wanted to make me dead or not.
