De'endee Mafia

Ed, you do honestly believe she might be scum? It was looking for a little bit like you were just looking for someone to vote for.

Jan did actually answer this, though it was Jan fashion, and not very clear.

This is just a hunch, and I am either brilliant or totally wrong, but it looks to me like you are looking for someone to cast a second vote for. Since you were the person that went to a lot of trouble to clarify the two vote mechanic, I wonder if scum get xp for voting twice.

vote special ed

I honestly believe she might be Scum. You might notice that in the posts where I state that I believe she might be Scum.

what you’ve quoted isn’t my vote or where I clarified the reasoning for Normal Phase.

Can you show me where? I may have missed it.

So are you going to assume all of the double voters are Scum? or just me?

And to be clear, your reason for voting me is that I’ve cast 2 votes, correct?

You look up from your character sheet, the game momentarily forgotten.

“Hey guys!” Hirka T’Bawa says.

“Who are you?”

“Koldanar had to step out, but I’ve got a character ready to go.”

“Get lost.”

Hirka smiles. 'I have pizza."

Immediately, room is made at the game table.

Hirka T’Bawa has joined the game. He is replacing Koldanar. Welcome, Hirka T’Bawa!

Thank you all! Hope you like Peperoni, Ham, and Pineapple pizza!

I need to read the whole game thread to catch up, so let me get to it!

YOu’ve brought my favourite so I’ll be gnashing whilst you catch up

Once you’ve done everything you can to defend yourself, the best way to avoid being lynched is to make a better case for someone else.

My reason for voting for you is that you seem particularly concerned to get your two votes in. There was a lot of discussion on Day 1 about the two vote thing, and whether or not to use both. I don’t remember everything everyone said but I do remember you checking quite thoroughly how it would work. At the time, I didn’t wonder more than passingly why you were interested in that, but when I read your posts to Jan just now, it seems like you already have a vote on septimus, but you are keen to place another, and you aren’t that convinced by any of the cases, but you’re picking the best of the lot. And those two things just added up as “Ed seems to really want to cast two votes. I wonder why.”

I haven’t looked at all the people who have voted twice. There could be lots of non-scummy reasons to vote twice, but if we lynch you, and you flip scum, then yes I will be very interested in who else has made a particular point to do so.

I’ll have a look for Jan’s response to you from before.

NETA: my post above is to Special Ed; I should have quoted him.

Hi, Hirka!

But I had 2 votes long before I voted for either septimus or Silver Jan. Did you notice that?

OK, I took a look at pedescribe’s contributions to the game to date. Here they are:

[quote=“pedescribe, post:553, topic:588052”]

I went into that search with the impression that **pedescribe **was lurking pretty badly, and was considering placing a vote to encourage more participation, but upon review he has contributed more than I recalled.

I did notice a couple other things, though. First, he “vows” not to use his double vote on Day One, but then promptly uses it on **ATPG **on Day Two. This locks him onto someone I would consider an easy target for scum (assuming **ATPG **is Town). Slight scum read there.

Second, he voted for** Silver Jan** on Day One (she ended up in second place), but has had absolutely nothing to say about her toDay, despite the fact that she is/was vote leader. Of course, he can’t vote for her now that he locked in his vote, but there has been no comment at all, which seems a bit odd. Possibly distancing himself from the lynch? Impossible to say right now, and only makes sense if **Jan **is Town, but not out of the question.

So, not much of a case, but I’d like to prod a response so: vote pedescribe

What changed your mind about the double voting?
What are your thoughts on Silver Jan toDay?

NETA: I screwed up the coding in that spoiler box somehow so it blends quotes by **pede **and NP, but I can’t figure out how to fix it. Sorry.

Kelly did tell us he was male, as well. SJ is not paying attention to details,

I think I found it. She hadn’t noticed the difference which is probably why it didn’t stick in my mind.

Here was my question:

and her answer:

So, she hadn’t noticed that their character classes didn’t match.

And that was it, I guess. it didn’t give her any pause, she still continued to believe Kelly’s claim. Though, if you notice, somewhere along the line, Normal claims with a PM similar to Silver Jan’s and has concerns about the difference with Kelly’s.

I don’t believe Jan ever comments on it again, though I could be missing it.

No, I didn’t. Guess I am not as clever as I hoped.

unvote special ed

Wait, so I’m suspicious for having 2 votes, but I’m not suspicious now because I’ve had 2 votes for most of the Day? It’s only suspicious that it’s septimus and Silver Jan, not if it’s AskThePizzaGuy ad Normal Phase?

Even though my first 2 were part of what was (hopefully obviously) tongue-in-cheek

Are you comparing Normal Phase and Silver Jan, and thinking they would play similarly? I think they have really different styles.

Actually, a few people (umm, at least one person) said “but your class doesn’t match”, and I don’t think she replied. I’ll go have a look.

Vote Count (2 different ways!)

A note about Silver Jan, and future similar situations: please be careful with your votes and unvotes. I am counting Silver Jan as locked in because that was clearly her intent.

Her “unvote” was potentially ambiguous, however. For the sake of your moderators, please clearly define who you are unvoting. If you’re unvoting two people, please name both of them in your unvote. Simply saying “unvote” isn’t enough.

As always, please check the vote count for errors.

Well, here’s the thing:

Their player classes didn’t match.

I asked Normal about it. She replied that it did cause her concern, since hers was similar to Silver Jan’s but she still wasn’t sure how far the handshaking remedies went.

I asked Silver Jan, she replied that she hadn;t noticed, which is why she believed KellyCriterion. And now that it was pointed out…nothing. No “They are different…hmmm” “No, I think it’s still likely we’re both Town.” No anything.

It seems unusual, and it leads me back to thinking maybe she had no reason to doubt KellyCriterion because she knew Kelly wasn’t Scum, and she had a Vanilla cover role.

Now, yesterDay, with the similarities between normal and Silver Jan, I believed them. Obviously that was wrong as Kelly was telling the truth.

While that doesn’t mean Silver was lying, it still surprises me that the difference in the PMs was so unimportant to her.

couple that with what I’ve pointed out toDay and her desire for Townie cred for being right about Kelly, and it leads me to suspect her.

You are not suspicious for having two votes. You are suspicious for making up reasons to vote (obviously), which I thought you were with Jan, based on the two posts I quoted. Oh, god, now I have to go reread all your posts on her. The two votes issue is just that I wondered why you would bother to make up a vote on someone, when you already had one.

Did you vote for Normal? Was that because she was ‘scary’ or am I misremembering?

I am saying I will do all this rereading, but I don’t know if I am going to have time.

To clarify, here are my initial votes, bleached.
