I’ve had this album about two weeks, and I have to say, it has to be the best album I’ve bought in a long while. Cantrell’s songwriting is just as strong as his days in Alice in Chains. “Anger Rising” sounds just like an Alice in Chains track, while “Give it a Name” and “Gone” are almost country. “Psychotic Break” and “Castaway” are incredibly heavy, while “She Was My Girl” (from the Spider-Man soundtrack) is very bright and upbeat on an album that is very dark and brooding in general. It won’t get any Grammy nominations though, because it isn’t overpromoted and doesn’t feature a “big name” artist. Anyone else enjoying or hating this album?
