My dehumidifier snaps, crackles, and pops on occasion.
What is the cause?
Condensed water hitting the fan blade? Kind of hard to say without hearing it.

That’s going to depend on what kind of humidifier you have. My vaporizer (steam humidifier) made those noises all the time – it’s inherent in the “boiling water” paradigm. Ultrasonic humidifiers, I think, can also be expected to make noises, though I’m not certain what conditions lead to that. The cool-mist type might make noises as Magiver suggests, but really, that should be rare.
It’s a Whirlpool. I don’t know the model number. Holds about a gallon and a half or so.
