If Trump leaves the country rather than speak under oath, I’ll be disappointed, but I’ll certainly find a way to live with the notion that Trump has left the country!
What other country would have him?
That would make running for President in 2024 somewhat difficult. He hasn’t announced yet, but it should be soon. How’s he going to have rallies from some other country?
Argentina has harbored other Nazis in the past.
“No. NO!! They speak Spanish there!!”
Russia, of course. But they’ll take all his money and leave him in some remote dacha in “retirement” while they laugh about him on television.
Video and radio.
You must not get my hopes up like this!! I ran around in circles, wagged my tail, and even barked when I read this. Eventually it was too much and I piddled on the carpet.
I hope you are wrong. I would love for him to swagger in there overconfident and trip all over his . . . body parts.
Love this post! Almost laughed out loud.
“Very bad people there, very bad” [/Trump voice]
Maybe he could move there and have all the Spanish speakers exiled to North America? Would that be a conflict for him?
And in private, behind his back and to his face. That is too much to even wish for, far too much to come true.
preferably a 5-story pole building in Уэлен, Чукотский okrug, where he will be able to see Alaska from his top floor bedroom
Honestly I don’t think the Russians would have any use for him. If he had bothered to read, understand, and remember all the secrets that he saw while in office it would be another story. But he knows no more about anything than the village idiot, so he has no value to a hostile state.

But he knows no more about anything than the village idiot
Don’t you mean “than any other village idiot”?
“Das Carphone is eine Nuisance Phone”
He has value to encourage others in the future to assist Russia. If Russia gives him a cushy retirement, future corrupt assholes in politics will know that they’re guaranteed a cushy retirement in Russia if they do their bidding, even if they get caught.

LOL, whatever mess you made will pale in comparison to the one Trump will leave if he must testify under oath.
Trump is simply incapable of telling the truth. The man is corrupt to the bone, has been his whole life. His narcissism is so severe, I don’t think he even realizes when he’s lying anymore – which is every time he talks.
He should never have defamed Ms. Zervos as he did. I’ve read about how eager she is to force him to this deposition. She’s not the only one who is looking forward to it, obviously!

Honestly I don’t think the Russians would have any use for him.
If nothing else, the uses he has are 1) funnelling the money that he’s getting from the rubes into Russia’s coffers instead, and 2) trolling America. I mean, having a former president in hiding in Russia to mock - that’s propaganda gold right there.
It’s not going to happen but it’s an amusing thought.

This might be a small hijack, but are prosecutors allowed to set up witnesses for perjury? In other words, could the prosecutor ask Trump who won the election?
They can ask questions, and if the witness lies in response, that’s perjury.
The prosecutors aren’t setting them up for perjury by asking questions, they are simply asking questions, it is up to him whether he lies in response.
There are not “prosecutors” in this either, as it is a civil matter, so it would just be the opposing attorneys.
Now, as to your specific question, assuming that Trump has any sort of competent legal counsel, it will probably be objected to as being irrelevant to the case, and he would have no reason to answer.
The opposing counsel won’t need to sneak in any blatant gotcha questions. Odds are that Trump will lie about several things in the course of answering even basic questions. It’s what he does.
I read an article a while ago, where former Trump confidantes said that he really believes he won the election… because everyone is afraid to tell him otherwise.
That just blows me away. Why is everyone so afraid of this big baby? He’s stupid fat and slow. He can’t walk down a ramp for gods sake.
I would find it a great privilege to tell him what a loser he is.
