Deleting LyricsBuddy from Mozilla Firefox

I ill-advisedly added LyricsBuddy to my browser and now wish to banish it forever. I can go into the Tools menu, select “Add-ons”, and click remove. Even when I’ve clicked “restart now,” the bastard comes back. Is there a more savvy way to attack this problem?

Have you googled methods to get rid of it? The first result

http://www.anvisoft.com/resources/how-to-get-rid-of-ads-by-lyricsbuddy-adware-lyricsbuddy-removal-instruction/

gives a 3-step method.

Note that I don’t endorse anything, am not a computer doctor, etc. But there are pages of results of how to get rid of it permanently, and my guess is most start with an adware / malware scanning program.

I just had to remove a lyrics thing from my son’s laptop. It was called Radio Rage but seemed to have a bunch of aliases. Anyhow, it was hell getting rid of it. Eventually what helped was I opened a DOS prompt in administrator mode, changed directory to the Radio Rage location (I forget where it is!), and use del /f /q /s , then rmdir /s /q . Then I also had to uninstall Firefox completely, including all of the saved data, and reinstall it.

None of my virus cleaners dealt with it.
