Deleting unwanted apps from Android device

I have a question for the tech savvy folks here. I’m using a tablet running Android lollipop that is full of chrome apps, many of which I don’t want. From the advice I’ve read online I’ve gone to device manager and selected “disable”, gotten the warning about misbehavior and lost data, and clicked ok. I then get a message asking if I want to replace the app with a “factory” version. I don’t. By clicking cancel am I not disabling the app? I just want to be free of constant reminders to update apps I have no use for. Advice please! Thanks!
Mind the gap.

I thought I was sure of the answer, but now I’m second guessing. If you do hit cancel, then go back, does the same app then show up under the list of disabled apps?

OK, double checked. You don’t want to hit cancel. Just tell it to replace the app with the factory version (all this does is uninstall all updates to the app) then it will show up as disabled.

Merci beaucoup Voltaire!
