Delightful Air France Safety Video

To their credit (and, presumably, to get passengers to pay greater attention to the pre-flight briefing), airlines have been jazzing up their safety videos of late. Air France introduced a new one in March of this year, but I was unaware of it until I made a trip to Paris a few weeks ago. Sure enough, it’s up on Youtube:

Love it. Kind of a '60s Umbrellas of Cherbourg vibe, don’t you think? Cheers.

Mais ou est le bagage? Ou sont les voyageurs?

Thank you, that was delightful.

I flew to London last spring, can’t remember the airline, but they also had an extremely entertaining safety video. Involving VERY British humor…kind of a mix of Ealing Studios, Monty Python, Flanders & Swann.

But you can’t upstage the French at this sort of thing. Six gorgeous young women moving sinuously, flirting with you, and talking French beats highbrow English wit, hands down.

Maybe a slight bit visually, but it doesn’t have that weird “talking in song” that Umbrellas has. Needs overhead shots.

I think the background “dancers” actually detract from the information being presented. Safety-wise, not good.

Now, if they got Catherine Deneuve to do it, my eyes would be glued to the screen.

Yep, I will watch attractive French women recite the phone book.

I enjoyed Delta’s Internet Meme safety video. I found myself watching to see what other references they’d include.
