The House wants to scuttle that, to hurt some Mexicans, so that the people who make up the GOP base can grin and giggle at the thought of brown families suffering. That’s the policy goal they’re attempting to achieve.

Outside the bubble you live in the GOP will take a major political hit if DHS doesn’t get funding on time. Before debate even started multiple Republicans expressed that funding DHS wasn’t that important. With that and the GOP’s history of willingness to shut down government offices, no one save the few right wing nut jobs like yourself is going to blame the Democrats if this bill doesn’t pass.
Given the history, why should the Democrats give in when they know the Republicans will take the blame if it fails?
