This figure is accurate when looking at net jobs — that is subtracting jobs that were destroyed from the jobs that were created.
From 1989 to July 2024, 51.6 million nonfarm jobs were created in the United States, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. There were a net 1.3 million jobs created in Republican administrations, while there were a net 50.3 million jobs created in Democratic administrations. The difference is most likely in large part a reflection of boom-bust economic cycles and external events, including the Great Recession during George W. Bush’s presidency and the coronavirus pandemic during Donald J. Trump’s. Under the Trump administration, about 2.7 million net jobs were lost. - SOURCE
Minor question. It seemed to me that Bill Clinton didn’t have his teleprompter working and was reading off his papers. As a seasoned politician, he managed it quite well. Does anyone know if there was a tech problem or if he just wanted to do it that way?
That was another dig at Trump. Neil Young personally approved the song’s use by the DNC while concurrently suing the Trump campaign for using it at their rallies. That song is something that the Democrats have that Trump can’t (so unfair…).
It’s a real skill connecting with the audience while reading from the script. He did it very well. But it was certainly noticeable and a departure from what everyone else was doing.
this story says it all. harris will stand in front of you and take the hit.
Stacey Johnson-Batiste shared a story from her childhood growing up with Harris in Berkeley, where the two attended kindergarten at Berkwood Hedge School, an independent school that’s still located on Bancroft Way. Batiste said one day during story time, she and Harris made clay projects. While their art was drying on tables outside, a boy tossed Johnson-Batiste’s project onto the ground and it broke into pieces.
“Kamala jumped in between him and me, and said something that made him so mad he picked up a rock or something and hit her on the head,” she said. “Blood came streaming down the school called Shyamala [Harris’ mother] to to come take her to the hospital.”
she will break the barriers and will take the cuts.
“So here’s the thing about breaking barriers. Breaking barriers does not mean that you start on one side of the barrier and end up on the other side. There’s breaking involved, and when you break things you get cut. And you may bleed, and it is worth it every time.”
I mean, sure… we’ll see, but, ya know… we could just stop sending them the weapons until we figure something out. Then I could watch these awesome conventions with a clearer conscious.
The context was, if the place is on fire we will rush in to save whoever is in there no matter who they are, and then: “if it happens to be a childless cat lady, we’ll save the cat, too!”

Trump said Shapiro ― who, as Pennsylvania’s governor, has no foreign policy role ― “has done nothing for Israel and never will.”
“Shapiro, for strictly political reasons, refused to acknowledge that I am the best friend that Israel, and the Jewish people, ever had,” Trump wrote on Truth Social just after midnight. “I have done more for Israel than any President, and frankly, I have done more for Israel than any person, and it’s not even close.”

The problem is it doesn’t work as a dig at Vance. He went to Ohio State using the GI Bill and various financial aid and did the same at Yale for law school.
In case you are wondering, the post-911 GI Bill that Vance used is significantly better than the Montgomery GI Bill that Walz would have had access to.
