Dems and Pubs, do you want your candidate campaigning with your Senators?

Trump and the Queen of the Harpies are very unpopular even with their own bases. Meanwhile the Senate is up for grabs. Do you want your candidate on the campaign trail with Senate candidates or would you rather them stay far far away?

“Queen of the Harpies”?

Neither of my senators is up for reelection, alas. I’d love for either Cornyn or Cruz to bask in the reflected glory of Trump’s campaign…

Hillary is unaccountably popular here in Illinois, so sure, bring her on.

The sad thing is, Cornyn used to be mostly reasonable. He just went batshit crazy since Ted Cruz was elected.

But yeah, I’d like them to both have Trump’s stench all over them come election time.

Illinois is pretty safe on the presidential level and Duckworth is almost guaranteed to win the Senate race, so I doubt Hillary ail be in Illinois unless it’s for a fundraiser.

If Dick Durbin runs for governor in 2018, then I’d want Hillary here to help.

I would love for Trump to campaign with one of my Senators, if he was running.

Put him on a stage with Al Franken, I want to see what kind of rage-animal he becomes.

Trick question. The answer is pretty obvious.

Republicans in purple states will avoid Trump like the plague he is.

Democrats will be happy to have Hillary as a drawing card. Not sure about how long her coattails will be, but certainly better than Trump’s.

I’d have no issue with Clinton campaigning for Duckworth (IL) aside from the fact that there’s races that could use presence her more.

I also think Trump should devote all of his time here in Illinois telling people how much he loves Mark Kirk and how they’re so alike

Clinton is welcome in Washington State anytime. Obama can come too. (Michelle or her husband)

Of course I want Clinton campaigning with Strickland. It can only help both of them. And, also of course, I want Trump campaigning with Portman.

I’d love to have Clinton campaign with either Harris or Sanchez. I do not know if she will make an endorsement of either one (both Democrats!) It would be helpful to whichever one she favors, and co-campaigning would be great. On the other hand, impartiality could appear more “Presidential.”

I’m good either way, with either Senatorial candidate. (I favor Harris, but not so very strongly that I won’t celebrate with joy if Sanchez wins.)

It doesn’t appear to be as bad as you think.

Recent poll.*

Question 2 shows Clinton 77/22 +55 among Dems.

Question 3 shows Trump 66/33 +33 among Repubs.

Not great, but pretty far from toxic.

*This poll was chosen because it was the most recent I could find that had this level of detail. It may well be an outlier.

It would be amusing, though I doubt Hillary and Cruz will be hitting the campaign trail together anytime soon.

Somehow I think the odds aren’t much different for a Trump-Cruz joint event.

No one’s up in Michigan, but if either Stabenow or Peters were running, I’d love to see Hillary on stage with them. We’re a blue state, despite what the gerrymandered districts might tell you, and Hillary would help either one of our Senators.

I’m still undecided on the Bayh - Young race in Indiana. I’d only want Trump associated with Young if I was hoping to tar and feather him by association. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hillary, the Favorite Daughter of the great state of Illinois, would be welcomed with open arms by Tammy Duckworth, our next senator, and by Dick Durbin, of great Dem mojo, who appreciates that she didn’t run against him.

Hillary is fairly center-of-the-left which would play terrific in our cities and reasonably well in our rural areas; as well as any Democrat would. So sure; let anyone running for any office in PA play her for all the mileage and free publicity they can get.
