There are Democrats, Republican, and independents out there with busy lives to lead. Some of them might consider your characterization of them to be condescending and therefore insulting. Keep up the good work.

Yeah, maybe there’s a poll somewhere?
Something like an opinion poll, perhaps? Those are never wrong. Or biased. You know what usually provides accurate results? Election results.
Like all the special elections Democrats have been winning?
I’m sure the Republican base will buy that. Good job.
You could be right that if the listened to your propaganda and strawmen, that they could be swayed. If someone does not consume multiple sources of information, then the few that they do consume get heavier weightings. If the only source they have is your propaganda, then they may be convinced by your propaganda.
That’s why making statements like your works in political ads and stuff, it is persuasive to the many who cannot put your statements into context. Democrats have a harder time reducing their positions into soundbites, and the tendency of republicans to appeal to negative emotions like you are trying to do is a very powerful social manipulation tool.
The problem is when you then repeat the propaganda, and expect it to be taken seriously in an actual debate.
Given the brevity of the shutdown (a weekend and one weekday), it’ll probably be an afterthought to most people before February is over. If a Republican turns it into a campaign commercial in October, it won’t even move the needle.
That depends on whether there’s another shutdown in a couple of weeks.
This reminds me that there’s a study titled “Low-Effort Thought Promotes Political Conservatism”. Basically, the drunker people are, the more conservative arguments appeal to them. I suppose the contra is that as people sober up and are more able to think through issues they become more liberal. I’ve always suspected this was one of the reasons people became more conservative as they got older–age-related cognitive impairment makes “bumper-sticker” political arguments more appealing.
I think there have also been studies showing that IQ is negatively correlated with conservative thought, though I can’t be bothered to look for them.
Hahahaha. Democrats repeat their propaganda repeatedly. Have you forgotten the great “Closing of the George Washington Bridge” (aka Bridgegate) debacle. Lies, rumors, speculation, and horseshit repeatedly delivered by Democrats, Hillary worshipers, comedians, late night talk show hosts, pundits, and internet posters. After all was said and done, after several state and federal investigations, and a criminal trial, those people were all proven wrong. Personally, I’ll wait for election, and investigation, results.
p.s. It doesn’t appear to me that Democrats have a harder time reducing their positions into soundbites. Or even a hard time. You’re free to make your case to the voters. Just as I am. If you’re still afraid of my voicing my opinion, you could consider it to be just one more of those multiple sources of information. Or not. Life goes on.
Uh… weren’t like three or four staffers convicted? At least one in a jury trial?
Yes there were. But they weren’t the primary target of the news media’s ire.
They were more interested in that other fella.
Indeed. Bill Baroni and Bridget Anne Kelly both received 18 months on seven counts of conspiracy. David “Port Authority” Wildstein received 3 years probation and 500 hours of community service.
But because Christie himself avoided getting swept up by strategic under-bus-tossing, I guess it means that “those people were all proven wrong.”
Wrong? Two staffers went to Prison. from Wiki:
*
The United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey Paul J. Fishman launched a massive federal investigation,[12] resulting in a sweeping nine-count indictment against Bridget Anne Kelly, the deputy chief of staff, Baroni and Wildstein.[13] Wildstein entered a guilty plea, and testified against Baroni and Kelly, who were found guilty on all counts in November 2016
*
Sure, no one rolled over on Christie, and it seems possible that he did nothing more than a “Will no one rid me of this meddlesome priest?” comment that several staffers went to town with.
But indeed the lanes were closed for poltical revenge reasons.
*
The indictments charge that the lane closures were retribution against Sokolich for not endorsing Christie. Fishman said that Wildstein had corroborated the allegations in the indictments,[213] and said that the three officials “agreed to and did use public resources to carry out a vendetta and exact retribution,” and that they "callously victimized the people of Fort Lee.*
There was an investigation and people went to jail. Then there was an election, and Christie was shown to have the worst favorability of any NJ governor ever.
What exactly is it you are waiting for?
I’m certainly not afraid of anyone voicing their opinion. But I do worry that your opinion is informed by such blatantly incorrect information.

“Rolled over on Christie”? You still believe that Christie was involved? There is absolutely no evidence that Christie was involved, but that didn’t stop asshole late night comedians, lame stream media talking heads, and Democrats from constantly, routinely, and repeatedly lying about Christie’s involvement in the lane reassignments. The constant barrage of lies and rumors, rumors and lies, repeated daily seem to have accomplished their intended task.
Which lanes were closed? AFAIK, all of the lanes were open. Two of the three lanes assigned to the Ft. Lee entrance were reassigned to main arterial traffic.
Right. And Tinker Bell visited me this morning.
Well, again, several of Christies staffers were convicted and went to prison. His personal staffers. I guess it is *possible * :dubious: he didnt order or know, but he has to take responibility for his staff. They did their criminal acts in order to get back at a politician who failed to endorse Christie. So they did it for him.
I dont see any lies. People went to prison over this.* "The indictments charge that the lane closures were retribution against Sokolich for not endorsing Christie. "

“Personally, I’ll wait for election, and investigation, results”. = Generally-speaking, I’ll wait for the final results of investigations and elections before condemning the accused. It’s been proven that comedians, talk show hosts, biased news readers, and opinion polls can’t be trusted to deliver the facts, or the truth, when it’s convenient to their purpose.
I reserve the right to contribute to any conversation during the run up to any investigation’s/election’s result. Just as the Democrat collective likes to confess that they support the elected Democrats choice to place the “rights” of illegal aliens over the needs of U.S. citizens. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, just as everyone is entitled to vote for, or against, the political party that supports illegal aliens over U.S. citizens.
Wasn’t there only one Christie staffer involved in the N.Y./N.J. Port Authority debacle, and she had been dating one of the Port Authority personnel?
Repeatedly blaming Christie for something that he wasn’t involved in certainly qualifies as a lie/rumor/political opportunity. The lame stream media certainly had the time, money, and manpower, to properly research their pet project. If they had wanted to.
