Link.
Just ran across that article. What a bummer, I liked his work quite a bit.

I guess that makes his retirement-planning commercials ironic.
Ffs can we just have all the cool people stop dying this year already plz k thx
The dude died years ago; the drug residue has kept him from falling down.
First Coleman, now Hopper. Who’s going to be the third?
Artist, iconoclast, misogynist, freak, American, man. The breed has died a little more with his passing.
Indeed. His characters were always interesting. I loved his delivery. I wish we could bring him back, but…
‘Zombies freak me out, man.’
I’m not a fan, but could you at least wait until there is a grave to piss on?
I’d say Hopper is the third when you consider Art Linkletter.

The Rebel Without A Cause herd is thinned a little more. Not many of them left now. It looks like Buzz may be among the few still with us.
Hopper was always a “do it your own way” type of actor and I have enjoyed most of his roles. I think Hoosiers may have been his best work, but I mentioned the scene he and Walken had in True Romance just the other day in the “perfect scenes” thread.
I typed that before even checking Filmography by rating for Dennis Hopper to see how IMDb’s voters rank his movies and other work. I had no idea he had had 125 roles!
And isn’t that a surreal trio? Which of these things is not like the others… um, all three?
Well, you could connect Linklater and Coleman, 'cause Arnold the kid did say the darnedest thing.
Looks like Old Nick has got another drinking partner. Give him hell, Dennis!
Art Linkletter?
I’m a fan. I’m not pissing on anything. You, however, are. I guess I should use a smiley for the humor-impaired.
Art Linkletter . . . Gary Coleman . . . Dennis Hopper.
My brain cannot focus on these three at the same time.
And Hopper is connected, because dope does the darnedest things . . .
Gary Coleman and Dennis Hopper were in something called An American Carol. (Nope, never heard of it myself.) Lot’s of “stars” in small roles apparently.
According to The Oracle of Bacon, you have Dennis Hopper in The Story of Mankind (1957) with Marie Wilson who was in Screen Snapshots: The Great Showman (1950) with Art Linkletter.
They also give another route for Gary Coleman in Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star (2003) with Paul Petersen who was in Ozzie and Harriet: The Adventures of America’s Favorite Family (1998) with Art Linkletter.
Simon Monjack is hardly in the same category of connectedness.
Boy, was Gary Coleman in some crappy stuff or what?
RIP, Dennis. You were sooooo… fuckin’… suave!!!
I haven’t seen all of his films, but of the ones I have I liked him best in TRUE ROMANCE and FLASHBACK, and of course BLUE VELVET.
From the tabloid headlines this is going to be one nasty estate to settle. He had filed for divorce from his wife but they were still living together, though I’m guessing he cut her out of the will which is going to be bloody in and of itself since they have a young child. To complicate matters his illness, bad investments, alimony and child support to his last wife and their kids, expensive lifestyle and not earning as much as he used to had left him essentially broke cashwise, but he has one of the most valuable art collections in Hollywood (he’s been collecting for as long as he’s been acting) that if liquidated in a good market would make his estate very large, but always the chance he left it to a museum plus the art market is volatile in the best of economies, so you can bet that’s going to get interesting. I see some probate lawyers getting rich but his family getting little.
