Dental assistant fired for being luscious

I just looked at the link with all the pictures, and those are one spectacularly average-looking bunch of people! I expected Melissa Nelson to be a lot more stunning than that.

It’s the American way! :)\

Well you can’t force someone to employ someone they don’t want to. That’s the American way.

You surely may, if it is because they are a minority, or handicapped.

Or whatever she was. It happened 50 years ago this month, when I went to have a broken tooth cared for at the only dentist I could find locally who could take me immediately.

The dentist had an attractive woman my age in his office. He asked me if it would be okay for him to show her my teeth while he explained to her what he intended to do. I had the impression she was considering a dental career, perhaps she was his relative…

I was sitting in the chair, head back on the headrest, arms openly and clearly on the armrests. When the dentist asked her if she wanted to take a look at the problem, she came up directly on my right side, leaned over, and put her crotch directly onto my hand. I stayed very still, not knowing if it was intentional or not, and fearing that if I showed that I noticed, she would suddenly realize what she did and would scream and I would be in trouble.

She remained in that position for about 10 seconds while she peered into my mouth, then simply stood up and exchanged some remarks about what she saw with the old dentist.

There was no indication to me that any sort of solicitation was going on, any sort of intended contact, etc. When the dentist finished, I paid my bill, wished them a good day and went about my business
Anyone else ever have a similar experience…Gary, Indiana area 1963?

I accept, but he should be careful. I’m easily employed.

He did keep it in his pants. Taking as granted the concept of “employment at will”, I don’t have an issue with what happened. Having to work every single day with someone I’m attracted to (and closely, at that. Not each of us staying well apart beahind our desks) would be frankly an unpleaseant experience. I’d rather not think about my coworker’s body all day long while say body is standing inches away.

You can certainly control your behaviour, but I don’t see how this is better than, say, working with someone who irritates the hell out of you for whatever reason. So, given that in this US state, a worker can be fired for almost any reason whatsoever or no reason at all, this is as good a reason as any other.

And the dentist had the merit of having been fully honest about it (although some call this “idiocy”).

What good did it do anyone (except maybe the lawyers) to be honest about it? And since he wasn’t completely honest with his wife, it seems likely that he did tell the truth out of idiocy rather than because of some moral conviction about always being completely honest. Surely he didn’t do it to give her a chance to sue him.

I wonder if he made advances towards her and his Wife found out.
