Dentists! Get your fucking act together!

I made an appointment for a cleaning. At the office, the dentist poked at my teeth, made some notations, and told me to schedule a cleaning. I told her that’s what I was there for. She told me there’s no hygenists in, but if I waited 5 minutes for her to finish some business, she’d do the cleaning. I said OK. A half hour later, no one had come back, so I got up and left.

I got fillings done, which took no less than 4 separate appointments. When my novocaine wore off, I felt a stinging in my mouth. They’d left a gauze tube under my tongue.

My dentist tried to refer me to her husband for a surgical procedure I didn’t need.

I went in to have a chipped tooth re-bonded. They said I’d have to pay some amount even though I never had to before, and a check of my insurance schedule later that day confirmed I shouldn’t have had to pay then. Didn’t come up though, because they tried to get me to sign a form authorizing whatever procedures the dentist decided was necessary after examination. Considering the BS referal to her husband I refused to sign, so they refused me service.

Made an appointment with my NEW dentist to fix the chipped tooth. When I called, the receptionist said ‘what is the purpose of your appointment?’ I told her it was to fix my chipped tooth. Went in for the appointment today, the dentist poked around, made some notes, and told the nurse to schedule me for a cleaning and a chipped-tooth fixing. I told them that’s why I was there…to fix my tooth. No, the dentist doesn’t have time to do that today, I’ll need to make an appointment.

So two appointments to fix my tooth, tooth still not fixed. Way to go dentists! Keep up the bad work!
