I think that’s a good way to address the fundamentalist type. It may be based in a stupid notion, but it speaks in the language of some people. It could be done with a different conclusion than all racists being atheists though.
Why would anyone make a declaration against which there are so incredibly many obvious counterexamples?

But even then, it’s a flawed argument. For just one example, all Christians believe that it is possible to do something so terrible that it will corrupt your descendants for all time - Original Sin. A racist Christian might believe that the Jews are similarly tainted by the death of Christ.
Yes, it’s full of problems, but I was just referring to the argument about the imperfections of the God that the believers claim to adore. I am assuming the statement was directed at people like that. Your original sin thing is a stretch, it’s more likely they will use something like the mark of Cain against Muslims. They’ll continue to hate Jews for controlling the banks and the media without needing a religious argument.
It’s a No True Scotsman argument, so it’s stupid. He links atheism to racism, and rather than just address the flawed belief, he attributes it to Evil Others. If he said racists are rejecting parts of God’s design by saying he made “junk,” I’d kind of endorse the sentiment. But this is dumb.

Based on the quote, he is dumb people. Reinforcing the prejudices of the dumb does not help anybody.
Well, it’s better than “God created the black people to be slaves as told in the story of Noah and Ham”, right? I mean, there are fewer atheists than black people, so he has decreased the net hatred in the world. So at least we have that going for us.
Of course, God also created atheists, so that means that God created flawed people and… oh, dammit, my head hurts now.
(But, yeah - he wanted a reaction and probably didn’t have many callers on his board, so he said something idiotic to attract callers to liven up his show.)

Suppose he left out the part about atheists, do you still feel the same? I think turning the dumb down from 11 to 10 isn’t the worst thing on earth.
I know, and that’s why I’m cutting him some minor slack. He’s addressing dumb people. Rush Limbaugh would be justifying the racism while calling all liberals atheists. This is ain’t that bad on the talk radio scale.
This guy is a moron. He once had a decent radio show - he and his partner were both lawyers and they would talk about local issues and legal questions and did it quite well. Then Obama got elected and he decided that he was going to be the next Rush Limbaugh. He went full on right wing wingnut racebaiter with a heavy dose of Christianity mixed in. The problem was that his ratings didn’t grow, they declined, and the more extreme he got, the worse the ratings got. He and his partner eventually got fired from their station and I guess he moved to this little station to continue his ranting.
I have never encountered anyone with more of a need to be the center of attention than this guy.
See, but they’re burning the crosses, i.e. disposing of them ! Evidently that has an anti-Christian message. Obviously the Klan attacks black families of the South (who just so happen to stereotypically be devout. Coincidence ?!) as a proxy for their *real *targets : believers.

I think the American South being thought of as both fairly racist and very religious makes a bit of a hole in his line of “reasoning”.
I’m sure this guy is hugging himself over what will doubtless be a rise in ratings over the next quarter.
Then reality hits as his sponsors’ sales actually go down…
