DES Daughters, what about the Sons?

You always here about the daughters of women who took DES(diethylstilbestrol) during pregnancy and their health and reproductive issues but you never hear anything about the sons. Anybody know why that is?

Because female health problems get more attention than male ones, in general?

One of the effects of DES in men has a really fancy name I can’t recall off the top of my head, but basically instead of the opening being on the very end of the penis it’s further up the shaft. This can be a very minor, almost unnoticable displacement to a hole located anywhere along the shaft up to the base of the penis. May require surgical correction.

There are probably other subtle effects in some exposed men, but that’s the one I remember. Since it affects the penis it’s not something men are likely to be comfortable discussing, thus, you don’t hear about it.

Uhm. The teratogenic effects of DES have been known for many years and it’s been widely acknowledged that both genders are affected. Are you perhaps reading different research than the rest of us?
