BTW,if you get a chance, check out the Limited Edition DVD-- there’s an easter egg that lets you watch the film in chronological order. Neat.
Memento: A man struggles with his past.
Mulholland Drive: A film about a blonde chick, and a brunette chick, and some itty bitty people who live behind a dumpster.
Saw: A guy goes around killing people. Or actually he doesn’t kill them; he just puts them in situations where they’re going to die.
Saw 2: Same thing, but with more people and more blood.
Brokeback Mountain: Gay cowboys. (This is how people usually refer to the movie, though, in my experience.)
The Matrix: A group of hackers learns to understand a complex computer program.
I <3 Huckabees: An environmentalist becomes an existentialist, with the help of a firefighter. (Actually, that sounds just wacky enough that I MIGHT watch the movie just from hearing that description. Probably not though.
Hamlet / Shakesperean tragedy in general: Everyone dies.
By the way, may I recommend http://www.rinkworks.com/movieaminute/
any opera: A woman coughs in the first act, then dies in the second.
Saiyuki is a Japanese animated adventure series about four very handsome young men who travel around having adventures which mostly involve them fighting with and killing people and demons. There’s also lots of sitting and standing around looking incredibly cool and handsome, which is the basis for their considerably appeal among female fans. (Male fans like the series, too, for all the fighitng and killing.
bishi is a term meaning beautiful. Generally applied to very handsome male and very pretty female characters in anime. Which is most of them.
On a toot is an old slang term meaning, roughly, “on a spree.”
