I suggest that anyone who desires an Asian-language tattoo do two things:

Read through Hanzi Smatter.

Bring someone you trust who can read the language in question fluently with you, and get their confirmation after the image outline is traced on you, but before inking actually starts.
Otherwise, you may end up with something like “Crazy Diarrhea” or gibberish.
I have a tattoo on my right foot - starts by my big toe, runs across the foot, down the side, and around my anklebone.
Well, it did. Five years down the road pretty much everything down the side of my foot is gone. Hopefully I will be getting it fixed within the next month, if I can come up with the scratch.
And the pain of tattooing across the top of my foot? Excruciating. This, from the person who fell asleep getting a tattoo on my spine.
