Let’s say following the release of Abbey Road, the Beatles know the end is imminent and decide to do one monster, farewell show at Wembley. What songs comprise the set list?
I’m going with a 90 minute show (20 songs give or take) followed by one encore but you can use whatever format you’d like. I’m thinking it should go down as follows:
Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
A Little Help From My Friends
Something
Rock and Roll Music
Saw Her Standing There
Twist and Shout
I am the Walrus
Lady Madonna
Hey Bulldog
Acoustic Set of
My Life
Yesterday
Blackbird extended version
I Feel Fine
Ticket to Ride
While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Hard Day’s Night
She Loves You
Hey Jude
A Day in the Life
Encore:
Here Comes the Sun
Revolution
Medley of Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End not just because of “The End” but it could allow a full-out Ringo drum solo and a bit more drawn out three-way guitar battle.
I figured since it’s a concert, I leaned more toward the rockers rather than the slower numbers. Also I conceded toward tunes that most people would want to hear the Beatles play rather than the deeper cuts but you can go whichever way you want.
